Breath of the South
The exhibition represents the works of four artists. Jumu Monster, Pichardo, WiseTwo and Guri.
Jurena Muñoz Lagunas, Ju Mu, with Peruvian-Chilean roots born in 1990 in Hannover. Studied fashion design at the Universitat de les Illes Balears in Palma. She lives as a freelance artist in Berlin.
Enrique Pichardo Egea was born in Mexico City on April 17, 1973, where he currently lives and works. From a very young age he showed great interest in the plastic arts, creating his own puppets and hobbies. In 1995 he decides to focus on his true passion. Painting. In the same year he enters the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving (ENPEG) “La Esmeralda” where Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo have already studied.
WiseTwo is a world-artist. A global nomad: Bhupi Jethwa, known under the pseudonym “WiseTwo”. He is Kenyan with Indian roots, lives in Nairobi and began his artistic ventures there.His pictures are full of symbols with masks, signs and references to shamanic rituals.
“Gurí” means “child” in the Guaraní language. This Argentinian artist has travelled throughout Latin America for the last eleven years. In his artwork he gets inspired by the cosmovision and culture of the original people of each country he visits. He started painting murals in 2009. His artwork can be found in galleries and streets in more than 15 countries.
